A Lovely Gift For Mother’s Day Would Be Some Jewellery

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s time for all the children to take a minute out and think about what to buy their mum.

Sadly my mum passed away a few years ago, so it’s something I don’t have to think about, but I have 2 kids of my own and they always buy me a little present. I also have to get something for my husband’s mum as he doesn’t have a clue and would probably end up at the last minute getting her a bunch of flowers from the local garage!!

From a personal point of view I’m especially keen on silver rings and have quite a large collection.  It doesn’t have to cost a fortune, just be in a style that I like. To me a little ring from one of the shops on the High Street is just as precious as an expensive jewellery shop, because it’s the fact that they have taken the time out to go and buy me something.

Funnily enough last year they both gave me silver earrings. For children they have fairly good taste in women’s jewellery, definitely something that has rubbed off from me.

The same can’t be said for the presents they got for their dad on Father’s Day last year.  They both chose men’s jewellery for him, and in all honesty neither piece was something my husband would wear. You never know, perhaps this year they might get him some tools he could use around the house - that would definitely keep him happy.  Or better still something to do with his precious golf clubs. I have never met anyone who is so keen on their sport.  My other half can be found playing golf in all weathers, except when the golf course is shut due to thunder and lightning.

Having said all that, I had better ensure he hasn’t gone and booked any golf on Mother’s Day. Although the children may stretch their pocket money to buying me a present, hubby is the one who cooks the breakfast as there is no way the children would be let loose in my kitchen.
